Dr. Parmley obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1998 from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Saskatchewan. In 2005, she received her Doctor of Philosophy (Epidemiology) degree from the University of Guelph. Her graduate research focused on the use of human health databases for surveillance of animal related enteric disease in Alberta. Over the course of her training, Dr. Parmley received several awards, among them the Ontario Graduate Scholarship and Ontario Graduate Scholarship in Science and Technology. Her areas of interest include emerging animal and human diseases, health surveillance, environmental and wildlife epidemiology, and veterinary public health.
